    Ok i have a question.

I know the cam from an lt1 can go into a 305. Or i've been told so i assume it works.

But what about the heads and intake?... I just read online a guy saying he did it.. Has pictures but no real info so i was just wondering if anyone has done this if it works or is the guy full of it?I haven't heard of anyone doing this so it either isn't a really good combo or can't be done... or just no one has realized it?

i have no idea but it seems like the stroke on the LT1 would have to be significantly bigger in order for the bores to be the same. I think he's full of it.

Yeah, since the LT1 uses a reverse cooling-systems, some modifications are nessecary, but it will work, after you do some work.

The question I'm wondering....is why you'd want to do it in the first place?

Bolting the LT1 intake/heads onto a 305 or 350 with TPI originally will give you a ton more upper-RPM breathing room. But it's expensive, and in my opinion, not worth it.

My guess is for the same reason earwigs have two penis's. Because they can.

( sorry i just got this book full of useless facts, and that one kinda stood out)

Oh god that made my day.

Anyway reasons you would do it... Maybe you can't afford to build a whole new motor with better parts but you have an Lt1 setting in your shed.. Or what if you like doing things that other people don't like doing. Alot of people swap lt's or ls's in... Until today i've never heard anyone adapting an lt1 to a 305.

Same reason why someone might go and make there own SFC or LCA's... they like doign things custom not what everyone else has..

If you have an LT1 in your shed, put the whole motor in - it'd be a much better idea...

what if you had a cracked block?... or say scorn cylinders.... someone in a drunken rage too a jack hammer and went to town on the pistons and walls.... there junk now... But you cant sell the parts because you great grand father would be sad because it was his motor and blah blah blah...

Its something different and certain people... me being one of those people liek different things.

yea im on the "why" bandwagon... sure its doable, but if youre gonna by 1/2 an LT1 you might as well buy the whole thing and save yourself the work.

The cam will definitely work, i was looking into putting one into my TBI 350 in my old truck. stock TBI cams suck, but if youre going to go any farther than that id just change the whole motor out.... even camming one is arguably a waste of time.

We are just trying to steer you away from wasting money that's all.
If you are dead set on it, you will have to send your intake away and have it machined for a dist. hole/hold down clamp and you will have to get a new cam that has a dist. gear on it. That's alot of money say compared to buying a used stealth ram and bolting it on and being done with it...and making better power for your set-up.....oh and it looks WAY cooler than a LT1 intake
