Try a lower profile air cleaner. I'm assuming this is a different engine and intake/carb setup than stock? Got any more details? You're not giving us much to go on. You could always be a redneck and run it without a hood.

            hello
the motor is a chevy 283 smallblock bored 10 over and it's all built performance but the intake is a edelbrock performer 4barrel intake and it's the same hieght as my stock intake and it has a stock rochester quadrajet from the late 60's and the hood only misses the top of the carb by about 1 inch and i cant find a small enough breather to put on it and have enough air get into it for the engine. here are the only pics that turned out.
            thanks dustin

i also tried a stock sbc 305 engine with a 2barrel carb and then switched it to a qaudrajet set up and that was also two tall. i have tried mount's out of the late 60's and that did not work ethier and now i tried making my own mounts and that is currently how it is right now and it sit's 2 inches lower than the stock mounts. my car was origanally manufactured with 305 in it and now a v8 won't fit and i don't know why.
              thanks Dustin
