  • Biggest valves possible???

I am going to rebuild my LG4 heads and put them on a chevy 283 block that I have. Have a couple questions though.

Whats the biggest valves I can use on the LG4 heads that will clear the bored out 283's 3.905 bore. Could I get away with 2.02in/1.60ex? Or would I have to stick with 1.94in/1.50ex?

      I believe you can.

I think the Duntov heads for Vettes came with 2.02s.

You might be able to fit it but it will be shrouded like a mofo.

yeah I know, but i will do what I can to unshroud them, plus with the big cam I already have in the 283(.500+), and 1.6 rockers, they will flow even with the shrouding. I am using the parts from my 283 heads to rebuild the LG4 heads except the valves which I'm going to buy new since the LG4 only has the 1.84/1.50 valves which suck.

I'm hoping I can get away with the 202's and 1.60's without having to buy valve relief pistons.
