The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. What is the easiest way to swap a water pump on an LT1 Formula?
The only thing I can think of is to pull the radiator and condenser to do it.
Any other ways?
I wouldn't think you'd have to pull the radiator, probably some other stuff. But then again I've never worked on an LT1 in the car like that. However I can't see it being that different than doing a Gen I Water pump swap in an fbody.
no need to pull the condenser. you could probably leave the radiator too, but i pull it for more room. ***be really careful to not get water/coolant on your opti, or you will be replacing that too***. though, depending on milage you might want too anyways since you will be pretty much there. be sure to use rtv junk on both sides of the gasket and on the bolts or u will get leaks.
also check your seals on the timing cover, if they are leaking good time to replace them.
