lost forward gears

ahh the new tranny died already... ive been driving the thing around for a couple weeks now no problem took it out this weekend and blew the master cylinder "O" ring dickin around.. so had barely any breaks... I was drivin it out to the garage to fix that... on my way out got about 2 miles and lost my forward gear... im think WTF fluid was fine added a extra quart... nothing added 2 a little came back could drive about 25mph on and off... had reverse though so drove down the street in reverse for like 2 miles..lol god the looks were great... got to the garage drained the fluid in the tranny not burnt smelling not dirty... some average metal flakes from break in of a new trans but seemed ok to me... so i might just yank it out toss my old trans back in to get me by for now... i just thought it was kinda odd being a full manual trans i could see loosing 1 or 2 gears but all 3 under low load? "very little breaks" driving very slow to the
garage.... for some reason im thinking i might have blocked something off in the valve body with the metal flakes... maybe a clogged filter not getting enough pressure to engage... anyone have this problem with a 350 trans? i know its not a normal 350 but still... ive usuall had nothing, or normall with slipping nothing this close to dead but not dead...

im just gonna assume the clutch pack is fried in it but to be safe ill get a filter and gasket before i yank it out and toss the old one in it... the thing sat for 3 years even though it was brand new... i doubt TCI would warranty it now...lol

I would go with the filter prolly fell off, however

I have also heard it is VERY common in 700r4 trannys and some TH350 trannys that the break in particles will clog the valves.. the best cheap way i have heard to cure this would be to stick it in a low foward gear, get going down the street at a slow roll and stomp the fuel a few times, not so the tires break loose but to the point where they about to, just to excite the fluid and blow it out of the lines. perhaps this will work for you? it worked for me in my Silverado with the 400 SB / 700R4 tranny..
