  • Anyone an expert on clutches?

I noticed for the last week or so, my clutch has had some slop in it.
This morning, it had alot of play and I couldn't shift
into gear very well. On my way home(few blocks) I couldn't shift out of 1st and the clutch was almost to the floor.
    Opinions?

I would check your master/slave cylinders before the clutch. Clutched generally don't give out that quickly. My guess is that you blew the master or slave cylinders. Notice any fluid on the garage floor?

      The reservoir is empty.
I called a mechanic and now I'm going to go fill it and
      see what happens.

I figured....crawl under the car and you will find fluid all over the slave or master....the seals have probably blown out.

One more reason I miss manual linkage.

Most likely the Slave cylinder seals have failed. Gonna have to check the bellhousing for brake fluid.
