1995 trans am lt1 4l60e 83k miles...Wont shift into 3rd under WOT or bounces of rev limiter alot b4 shifting...Shifts into 3rd fine if not wide open..Any Ideas ?

4l60e shouldnt wot 3-4. If it does it wont last long -

Trans could be getting lazy and/or the tune needs a tweak. 3-4 clutch pack may be on its way out as well.

It ain't the tune been there done that....its toast! Make sure fluid level full if it is start shopping for a new one. My 4l60 will shift into 4th at about 128 mph at the track been doing this for years trans builder said normal hasn't died yet!sigpicJust a slow 400 plus RWHP LT1.....428/370 NA

Just went on 45 min. Drive and hit 3rd fine....checked tranny fluid and its at the 80 degree mark...where shood it be ?Comment
