  • BBK underdrive crank pully causing voltage issues?

I've installed a BBK under drive pully on my Camaro (crank) and I know every says they have voltage issues with them. Well I'm having the same issue and I'm wondering if anyone figured out a solution yet? Besides removing the BBK. I heard somewhere awhile back that you can install a bigger pully onto the alt but I forget what one they said I could replace it with.

    Anyone ever solve this issue?

Anything that slows down your alternator speed will reduce your voltage at idle. The amount of power you supposedly get from these things isn't worth the hassle
When in doubt, Whip it out !

I've had a 25% underdrive on my car since I've owned it.. Only time I ever noticed an issue was running my HID foglights(mostly at a crawl) for an extended period..

Any pics of your 3rdgen setup? And could you measure your alt pulley? Maybe I can find one to match

I don't believe I have any pics of it, but I'll look. Car is currently at the body shop for new paint.

I had them on my old 4th gen and it held about 13 volts at idle.. less with the lights on. I upgraded my my big 3 and picked up nearly a volt

I've heard of the big 3 upgrade. What all does that upgrade

Correct. I ran 4awg wire that I had left over from an amp install. Ran high quality terminals soldered to the wire and it helped out a lot.

I've got about 20ft of amp wire left over from the cars I've built in the past. Looks like I know what my next project is
