Why do people need to bleed their clutch? We just took my old one off, and put the new one on. No bleeding or anything.

Fluid gets dirty and full of moisture - makes the pedal spongy.

Clean fresh fluid is always a good thing.

On an LT1 or LS1?

LT1 comes as a sealed "assembly" prebled from the factory. Not so with the LS1. You have to bleed it on the initial install as the components (CMC, line, slave) are all sold separately.

Yeah im still on original fluid in my LT1, no problems. Car is on its third clutch, the remote sealed system is nice!

Really? I'd be flushing that and rebleeding the system. Brake fluid goes bad

I agree, its on my list. The car has been stored most of its life so probably a lot less heat cycles than most cars for its age.
