  • moser wheel studs need advice

i have a moser 12 bolt with the screw in style wheel studs there 5/8 and 3 inch long which is way to long for my torque thrust II's

i have to bore my wheels out 1mm for the 5/8 studs to fit also, which i don't want to do but not a big deal since it will be a upgrade anyhow.

i just want to find a shorter 5/8's stud but cant locate any other than a trailer style not to sure if im going about this correctly.... =/

you really should have looked into 1/2 inch studs if your going to run street wheels. 5/8's studs are generally more for race wheels not street wheels. im not even sure if anyone offers a lug nut that will even work with tapered style lug nuts for those wheels.

afco sells them but not sure they will fit in the holes in the wheels.
why are the studs too long?

I purchased the rear end used with these studs in it not thinking it would be an issue
I want to run a closed style lug nut without spacers.

Sounds like i may need to buy new axles to do what i want?

yes you will. the shortest 5/8 wheel stud is 2 inches long. and you will not find one that is closed off that long

Would it work with a spacer?
Is there a part number u can give me for that 2inch one
I dont want my studs sticking way out past my wheel mainly, i could deal with running a open style lug if i have to.

run an open style lug, unless you want to buy new axles thats the only way to do it properly.

Check if you can get 1/2" studs with the same screw in stud size
When in doubt, Whip it out !

I have opens that hold the wheels on then closed on top to cover the stud

Just have the axles re-drilled for whatever studs you want to use. Any reputable machine shop can do that for a reasonable price.

                          Are u running 5/8's?
Were do i find this stuff?

Update on my studs there 4inch lenth 5/8's 18thread pich both ends

If i drilled and tapped my axles in a different spot wouldnt that take strength away and not be so safe? Dont want to mess balance up also.? Not sure how that works if i can do that ill do that
