  • Squeeling Rear End in Turns?

When I turn left it squeals like the brake is rubbing. could be the rear rotor rubbing on the caliper bracket, or wear tab on the pad. Is this a comon problem? what does it indicate? is my axel going to fly out of the rear end?

Um, the your rear axle should move as one unit. So its part of it is not going to suddenly rub in a turn.

    Is it rubbing or whining?

From one side or the other or middle?

    I do believe the 10 bolt 7.5 is a C-Clip.

Stock rear is c-clip. Some side to side movement of the axles is completely normal.

Look at your abutment brackets, any rubbing will be very noticeable. I'd lean towards pads as the LT1 rears don't have backing plates that are prone to rubbing like the 98+ style with the inboard drum style parking brake.

My S15 Jimmy will squeal when turning left, but that's because the backing plates are similar the the LS1 style and have rusted out.

the rear end was rebuilt by a master mechanic, and the brakes only had a new set of pads the whole time i owned it because i replaced all the pads with ceramic because i was trying to keep dust down. If i had to guess its rotor related, because the parking brake has been disabled ever since the rear was rebuilt because i misplaced the cables.

I'm not to worried Nick, the axel hasn't come ouy yet lol. Sounds like it may be the wear tab hitting the rotor. Ill pull the wheels when I get a chance. It just started doing it since I have the motor pretty much functioning again. (I almost used the "f" word)
