    Yes. Pinions are an odd part to "read". Anytime I set up a R&P I never pay any attention to the pinion pattern. Oddly enough, the wear pattern you shown on that R&P looks pretty decent, just galled up really bad. if anything I would say the backlash was a bit tight and the pinion was a touch deep.

      Good to know.

      I got the receipt for the ring & pinion when I bought the car, 189.99 from Summit in late 2012. I can't find it now to get the part number but I'll try to see what brand it is by reading the stampings on the ring gear. Sucks that the guy ruined the gears but oh well, car is sitting on a new rear that is quite and I can drive it this spring
