Damn must be them 15* heads, LT1s only have junk 23* stuff, the 180 HP makes sense now.

You can run 6 speed cross member if you elongate the slot for the.bolt hole back.just a bit for the trans.. That trans is a 4" tail? With a 375 output shaft you can keep your driveshaft you have now, but if its.stock I would just get a good 3" strange chromoly one.

You get a fancy racing shifter too lol.

Of the many problems LT1s have, throttle reponse isnt one of them mr turbo lag

The only builder error I see is not using the Band-Aid sleeve.
It's a common failure on these transmissions when making a decent amount of power, of course way less then you LS guys.
Sonnax makes a sleeve that most "built" units seem to be using which reinforces the portion of the input drum that the shaft is pressed into.

I have a video of my slow underpowered LT1 breaking, right after it felt like it hooked up and went, the rear end locked, and engine stalled.
I thought I had grenaded the 10 bolt at first.

That's pretty stout, I need a 4l60e that can handle that kind of abuse.

I keep breaking all of these common weak links, it's getting tiring.

                          Here are the facts.

Can a 4l60E be built to handle a lot of power? Yes
                          Is it cheap? No
A TH400 is cheap and stout but has no OD or lockup
A 4L80E has both but also isn't cheap and its heavy and requires some massaging to get it in there.

They all have their pros and cons, pick one and roll with it. For a bullet proof 4L60E expect to pay $2500+

I will probably just keep saving and get a good 4l60e.
I have a 20,000 mile one to use for the time being.

I can probably manage to have the money for a good unit by the beginning of next season.

Call RPM Transmissions. You wont regret that decision.
