Flywheel Imbalance

Can anyone recommend a shop to balance a flywheel?
1995 Camaro M6. Stock internals.
Recently installed a Mcleod street twin clutch kit. This requires using the Mcleod flywheel that comes with the kit.
I had a shop supposedly match balance the Mcleod flywheel to my oem flywheel and it vibrates like crazy. Did not vibrate before. Vibrations follow RPM's not speed.
After they balanced the flywheel I had to show them where the pressure plate should be drilled to balance. Had a bad feeling about that and apparently it was we'll founded. This thing is not balanced right and I'm sure not taking it back to them.

Not understanding what you did in the first place, the stock flywheel shouldnt have required balancing, only resurfacing. Buy a new one? They are $100 from advance auto i just used one in my car.

Street Twins generally come with a Mcleod aluminum or steel flywheel. While I'm not sure why you couldn't use a stock flywheel, I've never heard of anyone doing that. They come with a bolt-on weight for external balance applications, but I believe it's still recommended to match balance if possible.

That said, I used Dynamic Speed & Marine in Chesterfield when I needed a match balance done. They did great work.

I know of a place but you need to know the imbalance. SBC's with a one piece rear main have an externally balanced flywheel/flexplate.

I am using the Mcleod Aluminum flywheel. That's what I need a good balance on.

Sorry it must have been Joel's post that confused me.

Can you check the part number and see if it's the correct flywheel for your application? You might have an internal balance when you need an external or vice versa

Part number is correct, checked with Mcleod, and it has the weight on the back.
Mcleod had recommended getting their flywheel match balanced to my oem flywheel.
I took it to a shop and I really don't think they knew what they were doing. A story there.
Trying to start over again.

Have not been able to find the factory spec for LT1 factory balance or imbalance.
I find 23.4 in/oz, but I'm sure that's not the complete spec..
I would thing there is a radius and position specified.

Do you still have the original flywheel to have another match balance done? Dynamic match balanced the entire flywheel/pressure plate assembly for me and I spin my engine to 7400 and it's buttery smooth. Give them a try if you do.

If you have original flywheel why not reinstall that make sure the flywheel balance is the problem not the clutch. I know its a lot of work but could help prove what the problem is, instead of assuming it flywheel balance.

Dropped off Mcleod flywheel, floater, pressure plate and original flywheel at Dynamic.
We'll see what they find.

Dynamic Speed & Marine fixed me up. Can you say smooooth again. Ron at Dynamic took care of me. Not the cheapest in town, but they had to fix what another shop really screwed up. I am happy.
