rear end needs some TLC (1999 Camaro)

I have a 1999 camaro with a rear end from a 2002 that was swapped in before I purchased it.

Factory 2.72 gears, factory Torsen diff.

The problem is I have a leak from the right side axle seal and what sounds like a bad wheel bearing, also i may have "play" in the c-clips from left to right as I hear a "sheeep sheeep sheeep" sound that gets worse when turning.

I would like to fix everything and was quoted 550 from a local shop, this is much more than I would like to spend, I was really hoping it would have been like 2-300 to fix, 550 seems a bit high.
I'm considering doing the job myself. The only thing I have yet to do on a vehicle is mess with differential internals, or mess with transmission internals (beyond a valvebody or a clutch on a M6).

Any advice? The vehicle is driveable right now. I'm thinking I should do both wheel bearings and the pinion bearing... basically if I crack this thing open I want to do everything and be done with it.

Most of everything you'd like to do isn't too bad of a job. The hardest part will be setting the preload on a new crush sleeve when you do the pinion seal.

Axles might be marred from the bad bearings though. They run about $125 per axle for aftermarket.

I'd consider looking for a complete 3.42 rear to replace it

Count on needing a new axle on at least 1 side....

I want to leave the 2.73 ratio in it, for highway economy. Maybe for now I'll just do the right side wheel bearing and axle with the diff in the car?

There are a couple of used rears on here right now. Just pick one up and swap it in. Don't waste your time putting money in the 10 bolt.

Just put new repair bearings in, and all new brake stuff, reused the axles. So far so good. Much quieter. If it goes bad again, I'll consider a ford 9 inch, or a LS2 GTO to fix the issue.
