Brake idiot light is on, I need help!

I think brakes would be covered under drivetrain, if not "my bad".

Ok, yesterday my brake idiot light came on,

My brake pressure is good

I checked my fluid level and it was a little low but I topped it off and the light is still on

My ebrake is down as far as it will go.


the car stops fine so Im guessing its a sensor gone bad
anybody have any experinance with this? My guess is Im gonna have to take it to have a diagnostic test but any info would be helpful

Check your reed switch thats connected to your E-brake. If its always on and your brakes/e-brake are fine, its probably from it not being grounded. Unplug the switch, if the light goes away its a faulty switch, or if it stays illuminated, then its probably due to the un-grounded wire.

BUT if it does stay on, this can also be an actual brake problem. So check that out, and if it does stay on, don't hesitate to get the brake system checked. You can never be too safe, right?

Mine comes on every once in a while. I refil it and it takes a couple days for it to turn off again.
