  • Quick performance Rear end backing plates

I need to know if there is a company that makes backing plates to fit ford ended 9" rearends that work with 98 disc brakes. the ends on my 9" bolts are oblong and the Camaro backing plates are squared. im trying to avoid buying rear brakes.

None that I know of. Most aftermarket 9" housings for the f-body come with the GM flange on the end of the tube. You can buy these ends and have a REPUTABLE shop weld them up. I cannot stress that enough.

Ask Larry how well his 9" worked after having a "performance" shop replace one of the tube ends They may have been good people and good with customer service, but his housing wasn't usable. Then again, he bought the rear with a bum tube.

My Moser 9" uses the "press in" backing plates directly off of the 10 bolt. I searched for days trying to find anyone that had backing plates for a 10 bolt and they simply don't exist. We ended up just pulling the backing plates from my old 10 bolt, cleaning them up, and slapping them on.

I thinke he's talking about the flange.

The backing plates don't fit because my rearend tubes have the big ford new style. Looks like I'm buying new brakes. Really don't trust a shop cutting my rearend up and welding new tubes.

Quick performance. I bought it off a guy who never used it.

I wouldn't have a problem with DLS or DTS doing the work. I'd still get a guarantee of workmanship/function in writing

Try to find the guy named "Rich" he goes by "Detroit Gearbox" on motown muscle. I'd trust him with my car any day.

Check with kore3. I believe he has what you are looking for. I had the same issue but made my own backing plates.
