Surprised Joels hasn't gone with his ugly mug looking at it =O

As stated unless you plan on some sticky tires or doing some sport with it, 10 bolt is fine for street bruising.

FWIW My co-worker has a 77 Camaro with a 10 bolt and it's had over 600 passes at the dragstrip with a ~450hp motor and slicks.
He finally broke it and then had a new posi and gears installed.

I'm a firm believer of a proper gear setup and proper Posi installation for it to last.
I think for the street your fine. If you really are going to abuse it, then I'd say move up to something better.

Doesn't Moser make a full replacement 12 bolt Posi axle? I thought they were around $2K, but it was a bolt in design ready to go. Mabee not?

Remember the old 10 bolts are different from the 10 bolts under 4th gens.

8.5" ring in the old. 7.5" in the new.

Depends on what you want to do. They aren't the strongest units and can free wheel if one tire gets zero traction (up in the air) but there is an HD unit and the T-2R (which is a pre loaded unit, won't free wheel)

Torsens are found in a lot of different vehicles, such the newer Boss 302's, s2000, the Toyubarion GT86/BRZ/FR-S, LF-A and ls1 4th gens (not 100% on 98s, SS models got the HD units) There is a list on the wiki page

            1998 Camaro Z28 - Bright Red, 6.0 TR224, 4l60e, 3.42 Eaton TrueTrac
            1989 Camaro IROC-Z Convertible - 355 big tube TPI, WC T5, 3.42 Zexel Torsen, CTS-V/C4 brakes
            1955 Bel Air 2 Door Post - 357 TPI, Muncie M20, 4 wheel disc
