  • Need some info and suggestions on a set of 3.73s

Looking to get a set of 3.73's bought and installed as soon as I can. I really want to get the car to the track before it gets too cold.

What I do know is I need gears for a 2 series carrier.
    I want 3.73's

I'd like to do this the cheapest route since I don't plan on keeping this rearend forever and I know it's far from bullet proof. I can't find a set of used gears.

What type of install kit should I get for it?

    How are these gears?

Were it me I would get this install kit. While you have it apart you might as well change the bearings...

Those gears should be fine and I have been told they are quieter than the Richmond gears.

When I got mine done (DTS) I ended up going to a 3 series carrier and used a factory type (American Axle) gear set. They told me I'd get gear whine with the thicker gears.
When in doubt, Whip it out !

Race car I only drive it on the weekends. Plus, I want to put the least amount of cash into the rear. It's junk and I'm just crossing my fingers at this point. Fortunately no odd noises... Yet...

who is doing the install? That will tell you exactly what you need to do. IMO the only cost effective way to swap gears in a 10 bolt is to do it yourself or buy one with 3.73s already installed. The price some shops charge to install gears can be staggering.
            Doing less with more
