Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I am thinking that my 3/4 clutch pack is starting to go.
I used the internals out of my fresh V6 transmission in the V8.
I am thinking maybe the extra power was too much.
Sound like the 3/4 going to you guys?
Best replacement for street use with decent power?
From all the reading I've done, I've gathered this:
Avoid Alto
Borq Warner High-Energy work great. I will be using these.
Late model OEM work well.
Raybestos Z-pac still have people leery, but I've seen a lot of builders say they are just as good as the BW. One sided clutches.
Raybestos Blue Plate Specials are good on the strip, I guess they wear out on the street
I noticed that it is a lot worse at light throttle.
Under more throttle it seems fine.
any chance it's something else?
It isn't slipping in gear, but it seems to stumble into gear
This sounds very similar to Brian's old '93. I drove it when Davy was selling it - and the 2/3 shift under lighter throttle was very hesitant, as you said. Wasn't slipping per se, but it just took a while to get in gear. Under a heavier foot, it shifted just fine. And Brian had that trans rebuilt before he sold the car, so it was a recent rebuild...
Gone but not forgotten: 1986 Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z
I'd install a line pressure tester just to rule that out first. It could be a dozen different things internally - clutch clearances, servo travel, partially blocked hole on the plate, fluid leak in the circuit, etc, etc
before mine died completely, it wouldn't go into 3rd at full throttle. At light throttle/normal driving it drove perfect. When I got my tune done, the dyno killed it but good.
