  • Engine ID

Just picked up a 71 formula clone. I cant really see the codes on the rear of the engine block to determine the build date. It is a WD engine with a motor unit number of 808271. Any ideas what the block could be without knowing the date code, I was told the block was original but from what I can find on the WD code it isnt. Thanks for the help.

Forgot to mention the engine has the transfer lug.

The transfer lug is a good thing. That means the block went down another separate line for extra machining. My 1969 428 4 bolt main engine block has it.

I am guessing a 73 350. I am basing that on the heads that are from a 73 350. Couldnt get the date code off the rear of the engine.
