Well, brakes are not the issue.. I took care of that problem.. Ran the car for about 10 minutes on jackstands(idle) and felt rotors after running, both cold. I was like, **** yes bout damn time... Then something made me feel the bearing housing, very warm.... So I let the car sit awhile, took the caliper and rotor off and let car idle in gear for 5 minutes or so.. Bearing housing very warm again.. I watch the axle spin and don't see anything obvious.. Looks to be spinning true.. I don't understand why the ****ing bearing keeps getting so damn hot on the passenger side. Bearings on both sides are brand new.. I keep going back to something has to be wrong with that end housing replacement...

I'd be on the horn with Moser, Strange, DTS, etc. I'd also cut my losses with that shop unless they are willing to replace the entire tube.

I haven't paid for any work out there in awhile. They have stood behind their work.. That being said, I have no choice but to believe that end housing and or whole tube is bad.. That being said I know they used a jig and checked everything, he explained the process very thoroughly to me.. I think I am going to park my car in the street and hope it is stolen or destroyed..Originally posted by hoogiesngrinderz View PostI'd be on the horn with Moser, Strange, DTS, etc. I'd also cut my losses with that shop unless they are willing to replace the entire tube.sigpic

You know it...couple cold beer(s) waitin too!Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostMy chair still warm Brent? I've come to the conclusion something must be wrong with the passenger side of my 9" housing. I picked my car up today, drove it home, drivers side axles flange and housing Luke warm. Passenger side HOT! Just going to melt another seal if I drive it. Hello car cover...
Walk away from it for awhile and catch your breath. As Mike said....might want to cut your losses on this one.Originally posted by OIF1VET View PostI haven't paid for any work out there in awhile. Might be time to just order a new housing with axles from Moser or Quick performance - and sell this one with the current axles at a reduced rate, to someone willing to take on the challenge.
Stuff your 3rd member in the new housing and go do burnouts2000 Formula

Maybe that's what you need to do. DTS has their axle shop in Ionia. See if you could take the housing and axles and have them inspect them. Even if it cost you a couple hundred bucks, it would be money well spent. When in doubt, Whip it out !

DTS put my 9" together. With axle bearings and a few misc parts the total bill was around $300.00sigpic

I talked to moser and bob at brute speed and they both agreed the end housing can not be aligned correctly. I know it was getting lubrication cause it started leaking out that side after 200 miles. That's when I discovered the bearing getting hot and melting the seal. I just have to believe that side has a problem, it is the side that was replaced. Probably pull it and take to DTS this winter and get it double checked.Originally posted by matlt1 View PostCan you tell for certain that oil is getting to the passenger side beaing? A lack of oil / lubrication is the typical reason for a bearing running too hot.sigpic
