I removed the e-brakes when I initially installed the rear..Originally posted by Nocooler View PostDid you check and make sure the ebrake isn't setup to tight?
Been a pretty shitty year. About all I can think of to do now is buy a new housing this winter and swap my shit over.. There has to be an issue with that end housing, it's all I can think of..Originally posted by DETROITMUSCLE View PostSaw this post and I was hoping somehow I was a couple pages back

Alright, been under the car since I got off work at 3. 100% a brake issue on the passenger side.. I put a couple lugs on the rotors, started the car and just let it idle in gear.. After only 1 minute or so I shut it off. Drivers side rotor ice cold, passenger side rotor warm... Both axles cold also.. New rotors(both sides), and a new caliper on passenger side.. My only guess is the brakes are not fully releasing on that side.. Now I just have to figure out why..sigpic

I'm going to run it tomorrow with the caliper off.. If rotor stays cold then I know for sure the caliper is the issue.. Caliper is brand new, guess I should of checked it better.. I thought I did..Originally posted by Nocooler View PostFor the ebrake yes - but he has removed the ebrake.
Larry is the caliper floating properly? Maybe switch pads from side to side?sigpic

Going to throw this out there. It may or may not have any relevance. I had this happen to me on a 1996 Dodge. The drivers side rear brake worked. It worked great, did what it was suppose to do - apply friction to the drum, thus stopping the wheel. The problem was, the brake wouldn't fully release. I ended up smoking a couple pair of shoes and drums for that side before I figured out why the brake wasn't fully releasing. It turned out, for whatever reason, the brake line would allow residual pressure to remain, keeping the shoes tight enough against the drums to absolutely smoke 'em.
Don't know. I'm just sayin'.

did you change the flex line? contamination , being folded and other things will damage the liner.
run the car with the caliper on like you did. temp it. then open the bleeder for a few then try again without touching the brakes
Another thing that will hang a caliper is to much grease in the slide. if you push it in all the way and it comes back out there is probably too much grease

Don't know. I'm just sayin'.It is funny you and larry both brought this up. A guy at work mentioned it yesterday and I am starting to believe this is what is happening.. Going to check this out tonight.. I did not change the flex line. All original to the car.Originally posted by 1BADAIR View Postdid you change the flex line? contamination , being folded and other things will damage the liner.

The flex line going to the brakes is exactly what I was thinking, on both my Jimmy and Blazer I was having huge brake issues on one side and I changed that line and havent looked back since. I would give it a try, cheap and easy.sigpic

Can you argue that it's "revolutionary"? Perhaps. Just because it's "new" and "different" doesn't mean it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
