Which rear end would you choose?

'79 Trans Am. 305 Chevy small block, turbo 350 trans.

The 2.41:1 rear end or the 3.42:1 rear end?

What are the pros and cons of each rear end with my motor and trans choices? I am still trying to figure out what these ratios mean.....

I know I have a 2.41:1 and beleive I have a 3.42:1 at my disposal and trying to figure out which will be the best choice.

How much highway driving do you plan? I don't know much about auto's (never owned one) but if I remember correctly the turbo 350 does not have overdrive. The 2.41 will be a dog out of the hole but will be good on the highway. The 3.42 will be better on acceleration but less tolerable on the highway...

I would expect close to 3k rpms on the highway with 3.42s and a th350.
