  • T-56 Trans rebuild

Hey guys, I dont have teh cash for it right now but I would like to know if anyone here rebuilds transmissions or knows of a reputable place to have it done at. Im also looking to beef up the trans a bit, maybe a nicer gear set, steel shift forks, carbon fiber syncros and stuff like that.

Once I get this done I can start saving up for that 396 short block from victory

i had my T56 rebuilt last year at a place called D&D Performance. they are located in Wixom. they're a pretty reputable T56 shop. i think i paid around $1,200 or $1,300 for the entire rebuild.

that was with me taking them the trans. OUT OF THE CAR

i think they had it for a week or so, i forget? i had it done the same time i had my spec3 out with the million and one problems with it, and sending it back to spec and a ton of other shit....so i had the car in the air for about a month and getting the trans back wasn't a huge priority at the time i had them do it.

i think their site is www.ddperformance.com

a press might be needed. Some of the 5and 6 gears are tough to get off but mine slide right off. You and also extend the arms of a 3 jaw puller with 1 inch steel about 10 inches and that works well too.
Sometimes you need a bearing separater and a press to get the hubs off
