  • Reusing a clutch

I have a clutch that I want to put on a different engine. It only has 500-750 miles on it. Do I need to use it with the same flywheel, or can I use it with one with a fresh surface? I would like to keep the flywheel with the engine it came off of for balancing purposes.

I don't see why not if it only has as few miles as you describe. It would be like putting new rotors on slightly worn brake pads. As long as you get the flywheel resurfaced it should be good.

Id say you could use it with the flywheel / PP it was originally with, or a resurfaced one.

I would keep the same PP, but planned to buy a new/reman stock flywheel for the new engine. Speaking of which, I know you're a proponent of the stock flywheel, did you buy a new stock piece or just resurface your old one? I'm wondering if there's a brand preference for a replacement stocker.

I used my original one - I'm not sure if there is a reputable brand for aftermarket. I would like to have one that it slightly lighter, but the one we pulled out of nates car felt more like a dog dish than a flywheel

You should be safe to reuse everything you have. If you change the flywheel - you probably should take it easy for a couple hundred miles and let the clutch and flywheel get friendly.
