Real Quick: Do I need a new Axle (Pics)

So I am replacing my bearing as we speak and everything is going smoothly. I know quite a few people say the axles need to be replaced after the bearing wears out. So I pulled my axle and took a couple of pictures. I have no references on what a good one looks like and what one that needs replaced looks like, so I am asking your guys/gals opinion.

it looks not only pitted but also worn, I would bet you can feel a decent lip where that axle bearing was.

Thats exactly why I posted this and asked. There is definitely a dip in the axle, so much so that I wasn't sure that it wasn't suppose to be there.

Detroitmuscle, hit me up when you can since I am going to need them. Well actually one, mcalus replaced the other side before I bought the car.

Also if you can post up what a good one looks like, because even though this seems like its a common problem on these cars there are not a lot of detailed pictures about it.

Yeah that thing is bad. It should be smooth all the way across. The pitting in the "groove" is from excessive wear on the bearing surface.

I went and took a good look at both and its a good thing your only needing one because one of mine is pitted as well here is a pic of how the axle should look and then second is the pitted one.

I didn't know the stock 10 bolt's lasted long enough to wear out bearings...I guess I learn something new everyday

they can easily be pryed off and reinstalled I removed mine and installed them on my mosers.
