  • Trans or Tune issue?

Got my new 4L60E in car, normal driving works perfect. At WOT hits rev limiter and then shifts to 3rd, is this a tune issue? Will do the same thing on a 3-2 downshift when shifts up. Have added larger headers over winter also, so I may have changed my tune?

Um if you hit redline in 4th gear and it down shifts wouldn't that mean your engine goes way past redline and throws a rod through the oil pan?

      I think he's talking the 2-3 shift.
      Could be tune issue.

Headers are new, whole exhaust has been changed. Same tires as last year.

Deff the tune then. Trans needs to be commanded to shift a little sooner.

Yup, drop the shift point down 100 or 200 rpm.

The new power might have loosened the converter a few hundred RPM or so. It might not be making the commanded MPH to shift anymore.
