  • 9" in a 4th gen, bad pinion angle?

I was just talking to a shop about ordering a rear end for the camaro. They said the 9" will have a bad pinion angle and a 12 bolt wont. Thoughts on this? I really like the 9" for several reasons over a 12 bolt, however hearing that made me unsure. I was also just doing some research and I'm seeing that the s60 is really the way to go, but I'd have to get a custom driveshaft.

Pretty sure you need a new ds with a 9". As long as you have an adjustable torque arm I don't know why you couldn't set pinion angle. I have never heard of an issue before. Been debating S60 myself.

Been talking to more shops. All of them have no issue with the idea of a 9" (obviously). However, one did say that the MWC rear ends are nicer and lighter than Moser for the same price. Thoughts on that??

MWC are usually more expensive then a moser.. however with that they weigh a little less.. so its a give and take there

MWC makes fabbed housings, where the Moser are cast, unless you were looking at a Moser M9, which should be similiar weight to a WMC unit.

The variable you are missing is the Moser (BIG company) can have you a rearend in less than a week. Where MWC... months

                        x2...

Shopping for my rear, MWC was the most but given they offered a more complete system for me - torque arm, lighter, powder, discounts on supporting parts such as drive shafts, d.shaft loop, adj pan hard, etc, it made sense. Plus it's a bad ass looking piece....but I'm shallow like that

Moser housings are not cast...they are stamped steel....just HEAVY thick steel...lol

MWC makes a nice housing..too bad they suck on delivery times now. My bro-in-law waited like 5 months for his.
