Hope everything goes your way! Keep us updated. If he was to cover his mistake he would replace the rods and do the labor. IMO

You just might have to work(financially) with him, as bad as this sounds. but maybe it can include some upgrade compared to the old shortblock.

just out of curosity, why the second ring? trying to figure out what you are thinking. im going to have to look closer at the cylinder bore too. this whole lock might be trashed, right?

was making excuses. says ls motors have an oiling issue and that the rods shouldnt matter cause rods were centered on wrist pin. and something about "fillet" side of bearing being important. says the bearing wasnt that bad. says the crank can be machined and didnt mention the rod? will start tearing it down saturday.

oh yeah and took some more pics and will post tonight when i get home

I'm no ls expert but the rods should be centered its just the bottom is offset. It was deff a builder error as from what we can see in the pics. As for the offset is the rod to close together or was the rod to close to the crank?

unsure. im going to send him some pics and links about ls motors later so if anyone has any that they think would be helpful, please post em. im just disgusted with the whole thing. i definately need something good to happen, and soon. i just cant win

^that book should have all the info you need. Or any GM shop manual.

Maybe call Kurt Urban, Billy Briggs, Eric Konig @HKE and ask them if the direction of the rods is critical to engine survival.
