  • What's the difference between Tru-trac and trac-lok?

As stated in title, what's the difference? Also, is wave-trac better than both??

Tru trac is a gear bias posi, the Trac-lok is a clutch action posi. Wave-trac is better than both and WAY more expensive. I have a Trac-loc and it works flawlessly once you get the right amount of friction modifier in it. Trac-lok is an actual Ford design from way back...there are aftermarket companies that make them now. They are completely rebuildable.

If you are thinking of a wave track - talk to MWC about the new strange diff, it's supposed to be bad ass.

My car has the tru-trak in it - I only had 2 other options when I ordered it 3 years ago....locker or spool.

Yes someone is... I am torn between 3. MWC 9, Moser M9 and a reg Moser.. While I would like a MWC 9, I would have to switch to their full length T/A to allow for a DS safety loop.. I really like my Chassis mount T/A.. Reg 9" I could re-use all my suspension, but would prefer the wave trac, which then bumps the cost into the MWC 9 range.. I don't plan on buying until feb/mar next spring.. Now, if someone happens to see a 4 channel 9" for sale, let me know...

MWC short arm has a built in DS loop on the mount. MWC is slow though - plan on 8-10 weeks.

I'd skip powder coat as well - at least you can touch paint up - mine is all scratched and starting to chip in places.
