    Auto to t56 swap question

    hi i am new to this forum and joined becuase i hear you guys know ur facts about these cars and this is a great way to get the best info on the net!

    So I own a 1994 Camaro Z-28 and im in the middle of getting all the parts i need for this auto to a T56 swap. My question was do i need to get a new crossmember to fit the trans? or can i just use my old one? also this there already a pre cut hole in the fire wall to line up the clutch master cylinder?

    You will need a new crossmember for the t56. I suggest getting one with a TA relocation if you're going to do anything else to the car. There should already be a space for a hole for the master cyl. Might be a plate covering a hole or an impression for a cutout, I don't see why they'd be much different between stick and auto.

    Used to own a Firebird.

      ok thank you for the info. yea thats good i was hoping there was a pre cut hole or like an outline of where it should be. i helped a freind of mine put in a t5 in his iroc z an that was like the hardest part it had to line up perfect.

            I did an auto to T5 swap by myself last summer. I have a LT1 crossmember that I can't use as well. (I thought it would fit mine, but misread a bullet point saying that it won't work for 98+ cars) I don't know if you'll need it or not, but let me know if you want it and I'll practically give it away.

              i have a cross member off a t/a for a t56 as well with a new ploy trans mount... i am sure we can work something out if you want it

                  yea im in the middle of trying to get a crossmember but i also need a trans mount to complete my list of parts.. quick question can you use the old trans mounts for the swap?

                      kool would you recommend getting new ones cause the body has about 133k and the trans was never replaced or anything
