What Shifter (short throw) Do You Have?

I've heard the exact opposite Ryan, that pro5.0 have really weak springs. A lot of guys take them out and replace them because they can't hit the 2-3.

I've owned one and they seem to be pretty strong and I've never had a problem at all. One of my favorite shifters is the steeda tri-ax, not sure of you can order one for a 03-04 cobra and just put in on an LS1 car.

Id say the springs in my pro 5.0 are on the weaker side. Im pretty good hitting the 2-3 though because i have my pistol grip handle aimed for 3rd when the shifter is in second - so i know right where im going

Lots of good info, thanks guys! The experience and reviews are what I needed. Sounds like Pro5.0 is the way to go. So no one has any experience with MGW huh? Seems to be the favorite for most 5th Gen owners.

If you are looking for a smooth shifter the pro 5.0 is not for you Fred. They are the notchiest shifter made for our cars, and it gets worse with ball and short stick. B&M are the same way, I hated mine because I am so picky about it being notchy. I don't have any personal experiance with the MGW or the Hurst Billet, but I know the are reputed to be the smoothest. There is a large thread in the manual transmission forum of LS1tech about the MGW for our cars.

Time to go read about the MGW, maybe I'll be the MiFbody test dummy for it

EDIT: After doing a lot of reading, sounds like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread... they're on backorder for a month though!
