Didn't like the pro 5.0 at first but it's grown on me. Maybe once I get the tick master in it'll get a lot better...when my clutch actually fully disengages every time.

      Used to own a Firebird.

Same. I didnt like my pro 5.0 with the knob. but now that i have a pistol grip it seems like it was made for that.

I still have the stock leather knob and H8 it so I think I'm going to buy a nice plastic white knob with the 6-speed pattern on it. Kinda hard to justify $30 for a plastic ball though.

Interesting - I really like my stock Hurst leather knob. I'll probably get a brand new one when I order the new shifter, mine is a little worn like most

I switched from the stock leather ball to a Hurst T-Handle today, just for the hell of it. I'm not really a fan of it, but it's better than the ball for sure. Once I get rid of the Firebird, I'm going to get the same setup that Joel has.

lol... i was more or less joking about test drives, but sitting in the car, stationary and running through the gears would probably give me a good enough idea of the shifter - you can make the engine noises for me!

btw, i do appreciate the offers - may have to take you guys up on them

I have a black billet shift knob with the firebird emblem engraved into it if you want it. Tom was suppose to pick it up 2 years ago and he never followed through. Its still in the box. UPS label says 08

if you are having problems with the 2-3 shit I would go for the Pro 5.0 It has some really strong centering springs so you just basically have to push forward coming out of second to hit 3rd. I would make sure you dont go with too short of a stick. I had a 6" in my Camaro and I hated it.

I've heard the exact opposite Ryan, that pro5.0 have really weak springs. A lot of guys take them out and replace them because they can't hit the 2-3.

My car came with a B&M and I HATED it. Driving around crusing it was fun, pretty short throws, but when I wanted to run it 3rd was impossible to find. I put the stock shifter back in and it was better than the B&M. This winter I installed a Pro 5.0, WS6 store short stock, and a pistol grip handle, I haven't tried it out yet but I'm hoping for an improvement.
