  • First track visit, u know I had to break something!

My trans is shot. Right now I hear what sounds like some cans rattling under the dash. I was locked out of 2nd, stuck in 3rd, all kinds of grinding coming from the shifter and even when I pressed the clutch.

I was going about 70 and tried to slam into 3rd when the car just came to a complete halt in a heartbeat. It was a very harsh stop to say the least. But it started right back up and I made a few more passes, if you'd call them that lol

Thankfully, I made it all the way home and it didn't start acting up until I got off the highway and in the neighborhood. Then all those things I mentioned above happened^^

Sounds like you went from 2nd to 1st, ouch. Sounds like its time to pull the trans and do a tear down. Eric L

After talking with a few people about it, I definitely misshifted into 1st gear. I didn't realize I misshifted, I thought I made it into 3rd gear but I shift so fast i could've threw it in 1st without knowing.

I'll be curious to hear what it is when you tear into it. Taking it to a shop or going to do it yourself?

P.S. still want to trade lids?

Could it maybe be just the clutch and throwout bearing?

with a bad misshift like that you prob have a couple rainbows for pushrods. id have them checked out but it could be a throw out bearing or a number of things.
