  • A few trans issues

I did a good WOT run 1st -4th and I let off in the middle of 4th. I press the clutch and tried to put it in neutral but it was stuck. I didn't want to force it out and I can feel it want to grind if I do. So with the clutch pressed all the way, I slow it down to about 30mph and let off the clutch. Press it again and it comes out of 4th normally. This has happened to me twice.

Also, when in 2nd or 4th i hear this vibrating in those gears only. It's really quite and I only hear it with the windows up and I've been riding with the windows up all the time lately, it gets really loud to the point it drives me crazy!

Lastly, when normal driving I press the clutch I get this loud clunk sounds like a big piece a metal just smacks. This is when pressing the clutch under 2k rpm in any gear 1st-3rd.

have you pulled your trans out yet? I had a similar problem and yesterday I finally couldnt get it to go into any gear then i feel a cruch and i have no gears at all like the clutch was burnt up. so tonight I pulled out the trans and found all the springs holding the clutch assembly had fallen out and they were just flying around beattin the bell out of the bell housing. hopefully thats the only damage gonna put a new clutch and slave cylinder in it and put the trans back in and hope it solves my problems

Actually, I've had a few bigger (but common) issues with the trans. Had a spongy pedal, the clutch stick to the floor after it locked me out of 2nd gear during a high rpm shift. Glazed the clutch pretty badly while attempting a burnout.

I checked the clutch fluid in the reservoir and sure enough it was pitch black. I swapped it all out and have been keeping fresh fluid in the reservoir and I haven't had ANY issues shifting at any rpm! It feels like a knife through warm butter shifting now. Though it doesn't take much to get the fluid dirty again, just a little aggressive driving. But if it keeps getting dirty could that just be the cause of aggressive driving or is something broken that's allowing the fluid to get contaminated so quick/easily? It gets a little mix of black and yellow in the reservoir, so I just swap it out.

I have a tick master that I'm going to install right now. When it's time for a clutch I'll definitely be getting a new slave cylinder, remote bleeder, and throwout bearing.

BTW I'm on stock clutch and hydraulics (not even the drill mod) and this is the method I have been using and I'm VERY happy with the results! I'm much more confident slamming gears at the red line now, and best of all after a good wot 1-4th gear run my clutch feels exactly how it did when before I made the run
