Wierd noise

    Wierd noise

    So its been a long time since I have post on here, sorry bout that work is crazy. but heres my problem

    So while I was driving home from work I put the car into one and as I let off I heard a loud rattling, heat shields from what I hear. But When I let off and im in drive I hear a groaning coming from what sounds like the tranny. It drives and shifts fine but when I let off I hear that groaning. I just installed a new tranny mount and that sucker squeaks like crazy I heard that sometimes tranny mounts can cause your tranny to make these sounds? any input would be appreciated.

    If its a urathane (Energy Suspension) trans mount, than yes, they do transmit a fair amount of noise and vibiration. I have had urathane engine and transmissions mounts for so long that I no longer notice it. Eric L

      Yep, I tried a poly on mine, it was a definite NO GO... I had it on for less than 15 minutes.. Switched back to stock...

        So that squeaking that sounds like hamsters fighting wont go away? and as for the low groan when I let off you think thats the mount aswell?

          Best way to find out is put your stocker back on and see if the noises go away..

            Well thats originally why I took the stock one off but the stock one was not as noisey and is deteriorated. So maybe its making something else louder? maybe my torque arm bushing its in pretty bad shape too.

              Thats a good possibility. Thats the next mod on my Camaro when the factory one fails. A urathane Torque arm mount. I dont have any HORRIBLE noises like mentioned above. You can feel the stick for the T56 vibrate slightly, and the motor makes the car shake a tit bit at idle, but thats about it. Maybe a few squeeks that i have to cure ocasionally. Right now my nemisis is a hatch rattle that i must battle, lol. Eric L

                Just wish I had enough money for my ls1 swap already ohwell one day thanks for the help guys guess ill just baby her and see what happens

                  Probably cheaper to just sell yours and buy an LS1 car. Eric L

                    Heard that a bunch but 1. a early 4th gen with and LS1 is unexpected and sick 2. The car is very sentimental 3. its be awesome to drive a car that I built and i would learn a bunch in the process. lol ever since I got the dang car i knew either and ls1 or lt1 was gna be in its future no matter what the cost would be
