  • Tranny fluid and filter change

The bird is in need of new fluid being how it's all black. So how do I go about changing it? I already looked up the kit, which has the filter and the gasket. How much fluid do I need and is there anything special to doing it? I've never changed the filter and fluid before so this is deff something new to me. Also what do I do with the old tranny fluid? or maybe someone close by could give me a hand.

I believe if you go to Autozone's website it will tell you how much you will need for a filter and fluid change. Also get a big drain pan. Most Autozone's and Advance's will take the used oil I think.

They have an oil container in store, that is correct. The fluid capacity of your tranny is also in Advance's computers. Autozone doesn't have that info (that I know of)

K I thought they just took motor oil, not tranny fluid as well.

I honestly have never used them but will be having to soon and I have asked so I know they take motor oil. I guess its possible they don't take tranny fluid but it needs to be recycled just like motor oil so I can't imagine why they wouldn't. Call and check, hell where's Nick, he should know. Or do an oil change and mix them, they'll probably never know the difference, lol.
