Upon moving into my new house a year and a half ago in January, I drove my 01 Camaro SS and parked it at my new house. It was running fine. Well, I decided too start it up up and take it too work last March. I no sooner got out of the driveway and heard a loud pop sound come from what I thought was the rear end. I barlely made it hime with it crunching and grinding and slipping. So I replaced the carrier for the 2nd time last April thinking that it was junk again and that the pop had came from the rear. The carrier was junk and needed replaced, so I figured this would cure the problem. Upon replacing the carrier with another modified 3rd gen carrier and thinking all was good to go, I set off to leave the driveway too test drive the car after getting the carrier replaced. I put it in normal drive to take off and it wouldnt move. It was like I now had a manual valve body for some reason. The car would move in 1st and reverse and shift if I brought it up through the gears, but needed to be manually ran through the gears to work and slipped even more when I was turning right.. I figured that it might have been the rear end I installed not being properly shimmed or something, so I said screw it I will put a brand new Auburn from Moser in it when I get the money. So I put it off till today on replacing the rear carrier again with a brand new Auburn carrier from Moser with all new parts. I went to take off out of the garage after installation, and I still had too use it like a manual drive body. I took it around the block and it still has the same problems going on. The rear catches fine around corners and takes off like there is no problems, but if I am in another gear other than 1stand dont have enough speed and step on the gas it slips and wont catch until I manually downshift it. Where should I start too look now? Is it possible I have a vacuum leak or something, or is my tranny basically junk now or what? Does anyone have any suggestions for me too look into? I cant afford another tranny right now, or a rebuild or another year without driving my car... It is a 4L60e obviously if that means anything too anyone.

Thanks for the replies guys. I talked too a few others as well and they said the same thing...JUNK 4L60E. Guess I will be out for longer now. At least I know I have a good rear end that will hold up under pressure for the grand I sunk in it this time. Might be a bit for me too get the grand for the the new 4L60E with the new stall and 2 year 24000 mile warranty out of Fort Wayne. Kinda butt hurt over the situation as I was eager too be motorvating again. Oh well...will be good to go after this is resolved I think. I also have a brand new nose clip and 2 new front fenders too install before I get the body redone and repainted. I wish I knew someone that took payments too get it rebuilt, but I suppose thats next to impossible nowadays. Yet again...thanks too you all for the help.
