  • 9" swap questions

    I will be making a 9" to fit under my 98 camaro... i was planning on ditching the spring perches and shock mounts and just going to coil over... just wanted some input on that and maybe some info if someone has done that before.

    I will also be constructing a 4-link instead of tq arm

    and lastly i was wondering what gears would complement a Daily driven/weekend strip turbo A4 car?

    whats the ford 9 out of? you mave have to shorten the rear depending on length. and gears with turbo cars i think the lower the gear ratio the better but thats what a guy on here posted before with his turbo 3rd gen
    wishing i could drive like joe and the atm squad

      It is out of a late 80's E-250,
      i plan on narrowing it and back bracing the thing. I thought most ppl with my setup like 3.50's but i just wanted some input on it.

          For the street... most turbo guys go with 3.50s.

          Then the go higher for track cars... i.e. 3.00s and 2.73s


          When are you planning on doing the 4-link?

            i plan on doing the 4-link when ever i plan on putting it under the car... idk when that may be tho

              Are you going this route because you want a 4 link or because you don't want to deal with a torque arm mount?

                a little bit of both... but mainly dealing with all the adjustability i would have with a 4-link and to try something new

                  TA is the same as a 4 link but with only 3. just as adjustable and just as fast

                    either will work but the T/A has been a proven performer in handling as well.

                      Well atleast the price is the main factor... the price i can make a 4-link compared to fabbing up a mount for the tq arm and dealing with a larger price on the TQ arm.
                      i will most likely be keeping the stock lower control arm location and then just fabbing up a multiple position upper mount
