run a ported stock intake or ported LT4 intake. If you want to go aftermarket, single plane is your only option

Remember folks stop lights timed for 35mph are also timed for 70mph.

not the edelbrock one, just a factory LT4 intake manifold.

        EDIT

        maybe they are the same

nope, dont use the edelbrock. now thats what I would call a total waste of money.

All you need to do is port the stocker and it will be fine for what you want to do. /done and done/

for the throttle body, my boss has a 3rd gen camaro with a tune port he is building up.. he took the throttle body and cut the center section out and ported it, then he made a large oval butterfly and cut the center section out of the intake manifold... what are your thoughts on me doing the same thing

if it doesnt have the correct airflow when closed, tuning that will be a nightmare. My buddy just ported his throttle body and it caused him problems.

Ya, I would just port the stock intake and get like a 58MM TB.

I looked on Ebay and saw a few of the old school LT4 intakes on there.
Figure out what heads you are going to use and build from there.

The car needs wheels to be fast first, kinda hard sitting on a concrete floor on the body.

Do not try to reinvent the wheel. Find someone doing what you want to do and copy theyre set up. Wether it be 8s, 9s, 10s, or 11s. Find somebody doing it and go ask them a lot of questions. People have been going fast with LT1s for a long time with out any magic or trickery. A mild eagle or ohio crank rotating assembly 383 with some AFR heads and a stock ported intake and custom ground cam can easily go 10s with some weight reduction and 9s on a 200 shot. Eric L

Be careful about replacing your k-member...was reading on tech that some of them are weaker than stock ones because of the thickness of tubing they use...was looking for something else so I didn't read into it but remember it...pedders just had a write up on here to about what thicknesses are stronger and weaker...just my .02

If your worried about strength you would just use BMR's "Road race" K member. Still a lot lighter than stock and very beefy.
