  • Auto Trans in DD lost 2nd gear, found the problem

Well I drive 80 miles a day to work so I need a car with good fuel mileage.
It has got 156K on it and the Auto Trans quit shifting into 2nd gear. I finally got around to working on it yesterday. After checking all the easy stuff out I finally took the trans apart today after work and I found the reason it quit going into 2nd gear. The 2-4 Band was broken at were the rivets go into the band. Man I am glad that was all that it was. Looks like I am going to rebuild the whole thing while I have it apart. I was going to junk the car out, but now I think I can get a few more miles out of it.
