was going to buy these in the morning from a guy... will they work i have a 94 trans am auto... with i beleive the 2:70 something gears.. is it the same carrier as the 3:23 ???
help i need to know before the morning
this is what he has ::::
I have a good used set of GM gears for a 10 bolt axle.
Set of stock GM 3.73 gears for BOTH the 7.5 and 7.625 10 bolt open OR posi rears. Pinion has 11 teeth, ring gear has 41 teeth. These are the stronger 7 5/8 version.
These gears are for a 3.23-up carrier (3 series) but can be used with a 2 series if a spacer is used.
Very Good condition. Came from a stock daily driver S10.
These are genuine GM gears, not cheap imported aftermarket gears. They are stock gears for a 3 series (3.23-up) carrier. Will fit ANY 1977-up GM vehicle with 7.5/7.625 rear-- S 10, S-10 Blazer, 78-87 Monte Carlo, Cutlass, Grand Prix, 1982-up Camaro / Firebird, etc.
This ratio will give you great bottom end torque while still alowing you to cruise on the free way. Any lower and your motor will run to high on the free way. Great for a street/strip vehicle or just better performance out of your vehicle without touching the motor.
Includes:
Ring gear
Ring gear bolts
Pinion gear
Pinion large bearing
Yoke with washer, nut, straps and strap bolts
Everything needed for the swap except axle gasket($4) and oil($6).
