well...got the car back this afternoon. Pinion bearing was tore up which is what i suspected from the beginning. but anyways nice and quiet now and its got some added accelleration at wot!

Did they adjust the speedometer reading aswell for that price ?

You went from a 3.42 to a 3.73? Don't even worry about it. You will barely notice a difference. I went from 3.90s to 4.10s and my speedo was pretty much spot on afterwards without it getting recalibrated.Comment

does this hold true at higher speeds also? My old cobra had 3.55's and at 40-45mph it was only a few mph off but at 70 it was like 10mph off.
i drove next to my gf's car on the way home from the shop and it was only 2mph off at 45mph. we didnt get to hit any freeways to check higher speeds.sigpicComment

Mine was maybe off 1 mph at 70. It does change as your speed changes, that's for sure. Unless you find someone with a tuner who will do it for free, I wouldn't mess with it. I paid $75 to have mine recalibrated from 3.42s to 4.10s a couple years ago.Comment

Sounds like you went to the wrong guy the first time, did he give you a warranty? Anyway, it's something I didn't want to screw with myself nor did my son in-law who wrenches for a living. I went to a shop that was recommended by a high school buddy who has his own auto repair shop. The work was warranted, and my car runs sweet too!!
