      not likely, Its most def the trans coming apart. it happens over time. Not that hard to rebuild them just time consuming.

        Yeah I think problems with the stock converter are extremely rare it definatley sounds like the trans. If your gonna keep the car get it built right and be done with it.

          It's not a stock converter. It's an aftermarket 2800 stall converter. This isn't even the stock tranny. It was replaced about 2-3 years ago from a company called Maddog Transmissions (now called Outlaw Transmissions). It was thier level 2 version and I went with a higher than stock stall on the converter... I just been reading some of the symptoms of when a converter goes out and it's very close to what I'm experianceing.

          BTW - Aamco's free diognostic - it's worth about what I paid for it. They're full of crap.

            I still say a trans either way, those sound like very typical symptoms. A good way to test the converter is to get on the highway and see if it slips out of lockup.

              I agree with the worn clutches mine has been doing that since the motor state challenge. If you plan beating on it still I would get ceramic clutches put in. But me I am waiting to get a Manual in it.
