On the way home from AE friday night I raced a mustang gt and lost 3rd. By the time i got home there was so much smoke coming out the damn thing i couldnt see lol. Still have 1st and 2nd but i believe im in need of a rebuild. Question, should i stick with the 4l60e or convert to something different?

If it was my car i'd be swapping over to a manual. There is the old saying, "Automatics win races, manuals impress high school girls." Appariently, I'm a high school girl at heart then. I don't race my car so I'm a huge fan of manuals. Rebuilding that auto will be probably a 3rd of the cost though.2005 Yamaha R6

good luck with the trans rebuild. i have had 2 4l60e's rebuild.prepair to get some crazy number thrown at you to rebuild it to stock form let alone to hold 600-700hp. ($1200-$2100)
I have a guy Out of taylor,mi . That does realy good work including a rebuilt TQ coverter for a very low cost. He stands behind his work and has fst turn around ( less hen a week ).He build mostly racing tranies but he rebuilt all the tranies i gave him to stock and includes a rebuild Tq converter.( 2 trubo 350's and 1 4L60E ) . I am going to take him 2 more tranies later on this year to heave rebuilt for racing ( th400 and th350 )
Call Around and get the price for rebuilding the trans . If you are unhappy with the cost PM me and i can give you the guys number.
