Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I don't know if this is where this belongs but I like the idea of having the brake caliper on the rear like the newer birds and T/As. What all is involve in the conversion? Any suggestions where to buy? Walkthroughs? Thanks guys!
P.S. I have a line on a firebird steering wheel of a 98+ w/ the radio controls. Will this work with my car/ airbags???

I'm pretty sure it will, i've looked at a lot of rear disc brake converisons, and kits are the same for 4th gens, just brake lines is all you'll need maybe, and someother little things
I did a z28 rear end swap in my car. Just gotta make sure the rear doesn't have TCS and such since your 97 doesn't have it. You need a rear from like a 93-97 car I believe for your 97. Maybe a 98 will work as well.

virtually any 4th gen rearend will work on our cars 93-2002.. however what the problem when you get out of the specific body style and or years is things like tcs.. im not positive, but it is very possible for the tcs to be wired differently and be in a different location, making it very difficult for you to hook it up.. hooking the rear end up involves very little.. until you get into the electronic part of the whole ordeal.. like 5 or 6 bolts and 2 brake lines and the drive shaft. really isn't that hard.. but i would wait to buy the 2001 until you have heard of someone doing it..

well if the guy that wants to buy my 10 bolt falls through, i'll let you have next dibs on it.
i believe my 98 axle should bolt right up. it's a 3 channel rear end. meaning it's set up for ABS, but it DOES NOT have TCS. so it should hook up perfect for you.
also i have my stock aluminum 1 piece driveshaft. If any V6 guys are still running their 2 piecers, i think mine will bolt right up too.
