trans question

My trans feel like it sluggish so i put more trans fluid in it and it still doesn't seem it doesn't feel like it shift right either and my speedo doesn't work at all. Could this be an electric problem or is the trans bad.

somthing dont sound right, i would check fluid levle and find some one close that knows more about it,

if the speedo issue is a speed sensor issue it will cause trans problems

Ken, do you have the LT1 installed with the 4L60e?

Assuming it is a 4L60e: If your speedometer is not working then your vehicle speed sensor in the driver's side of the 4L60e isn't right.

When the 4L60e can not get a reading from the vehicle speed sensor, the transmission goes into "limp mode" - it will not go into overdrive (4th gear), nor will it want to shift correctly...

When I first did the LT1 swap the wire to my VSS was cut in the harness so the PCM had no signal to it. It didn't want to shift into 1st gear unless I got the RPMs decently high, and even then it wasn't shifting at the correct times. My speedometer also didn't work at all - didn't even go to 0, just stayed in the resting position.

yeah im tryin to work all the bugs out plus get it cleaned up. It look terrible it so dirty.ill be posting some pic was i get it all cleaned up


i drove it yesterday and the speedo was past 150 but the trans was shifting fine then later in the day the speedo started working. Today when i went out to take it out again the trans started acting up and the speedo was bouncing around then the speedo started not working at all

I replaced the vss and it fixed all my problem. Im gonna rub the car out tonight and ill post some pics tomorrow thanks for all the help
