    Stock rearend

    Anybody here know what the stock rearend was in the 95 Z28. I've been looking through my stuff can't find it anywhere.

    i believe they were 3.23 gears.....

        Manual trans or auto? Auto was either 2.73 or 3.23 and manual was 3.23.

          I don't know if they had 3.32 I thought it was 2.73 or 3.23 for autos - but I thought manuals are 3.42. I know for a fact my rear end from a manual 98+ Camaro was 3.42 and I vaguely remember seeing in my dad's RPO code list that my dad's is a 3.42.

                Brian is correct, I'm surprised less people know this. Auto is either a 2.73 or 3.23. All manual cars are 3.42. Is your car a auto or manual?

                EDIT: Were you the guy that was getting 3.73s put in? If you have the stock ring and pinion and are just curious, you can count teeth and divide to find out.

                DOUBLE EDIT: Just went to yuor intro post, and saw that you were talking about skip shift, which means you have a 6 speed, which means you have skip shift

                  GU2 = 2.73
                  GU5 = 3.23

                  Manual
                  GU6 = 3.42

                    Actually, LT1 Manual trans cars came with a 3.23 gear. 3.42 may have been an option, but they came factory with 3.23's.

                      lt1 6 speed cars came with 3.23's? I thought both ls and lt 6 speed cars came with 3.42's

                        No, no they didn't. ALL 6 speed cars came with 3.42s

                          I have personally driven a '93 Z-28 6 speed with factory 3.23 gears. I promise, it's true. lol.

                            93 was the odd ball year. All 94-02 v8 camaros with a t56 came with 3.42s. Eric L

                            1997 Camaro SS #2819 M6, Red, 3.42, 1 of 27, Ttops, BBK shorty headers, Flowmaster cat back, 1.6 rr, LT4 valve springs, ASAM CAI, Centerforce clutch, runs 12s, breaks 10 bolts.

                              **** me. I'm wrong. 93 was the oddball year. Different rear end, different transmissions, different computers. Good call.
