Moser or your gay lol. nah Matt that sucks bigtime man but at least you have that cash you were saving for a turbo kit to use, you would of had to get a built one sooner or later so now looks like the best time.

ok well here's the final verdict. the 10 bolts are timebombs to begin with. the 3.73's were a temporary fix last fall because i didn't have the cash at the time (because that's when i had all my clutch problems, then re-built the trans, and bought all the BMR stuff...then the rear end blew) the gear swap was meant to tide me over till some funds came up...well here we are busy season at my work..and the funds are back.....
i took the 10 bolt timebomb back to scott at Drive-Line Solutions so he could check it over and fix whatever it needs (so i can sell it and get a few bucks for it..anyone want a 10 bolt with 3.73's?
)
talked to him...and i'm getting a 9inch built with the tru-track diff/locker and decided to up the gear a bit and get the 3.89 this time. 31 spline axles and all the other little goodies i can get with it..... oh and i also decided to say F-it and get a steel driveshaft for it (since im on the bullet proof path)
so i put a down payment on the new little gem, and it should be ready in a week and a half....
SO, i will have my 10 bolt with the 3.73's freshly gone through and made right. and i will also have my stock aluminum driveshaft for sale, so if any of you V6 guys are looking to upgrade to some rear discs, or want a 1 piece driveshaft, throw me a price....i think i already have a buyer for the rear end though1998 Camaro SS Bullseye Turbo

Those 10-bolts are barely sufficient at stock power levels. With suspension and engine mods, it's like you were trying to kill it, haha.
It's too bad there's such a weak rearend in such an expensive car. Good luck with your new Ford parts

LoL, ahhh, yeah, if and when I upgrade mine I think it'll have to be a 12 bolt, even though I know a 9 inch is better, I doubt I'll ever make enough power to hurt a 12 bolt. I just can't knowingly put something that even has ford heritage in it, even if its built by Moser or Strange.Originally posted by Insomnya3AMGood luck with your new Ford parts
Anyway, good move Matt, goodluck with it.

i dont know they both have there bennifits... a 9 is strong but for real power you still have to reinforce the case... where as the 12 the axels themself are a tad weaker but the case is stronger for some reason.. atleast ive seen fewer bent and twisted... for anything that stays on the street a healthy 12 bolt is way more than enough... but if you pushing some ungodly numbers and really enjoy the 4k launches a beefed up 9 inch might do a tad better... but money wise i still plan on a 12 bolt.Originally posted by Frank The TankTook the restrictor plate off to give the Red Dragon a little more juice. But it's not exactly street legal, so keep it on the down low.

Yeah, I could type for weeks on the subject. My money is always on the 12-bolt, from an engineering standpoint. A 9" will work out great though.Originally posted by wezelesi dont know they both have there bennifits... a 9 is strong but for real power you still have to reinforce the case... where as the 12 the axels themself are a tad weaker but the case is stronger for some reason.. atleast ive seen fewer bent and twisted... for anything that stays on the street a healthy 12 bolt is way more than enough... but if you pushing some ungodly numbers and really enjoy the 4k launches a beefed up 9 inch might do a tad better... but money wise i still plan on a 12 bolt.

i don't want to mess with the rear end ever again...you can read and read and hear good and bad things about the 9inch vs. the 12 bolts.
i'm probably not going to have enough power anytime soon to use the 9 inch to it's full potential...but it's just another one of those "things on the list" that is kindof important, considering the 10 bolts are on borrowed time on a stock F-Body!
i can't wait....i know that it'll take a bit of power away, be less streetable, make some noise...yada yada yada......but i don't give a shit..... im making my car less and less of a Daily Driver/cruisable car...but that's what i want. i'm just excited to be able to launch with some drag radials and not have to hold my breath and cross my fingers

haha awesome. just dont go popping first gear now lol.
I agree entirely about making the car less streetable, gives it more personality which in essence is more fun
does this mean you plan on getting a daily driver by the end of this season?
